Training and Start date

For start date, the schools want teachers starting on the 1st of a month, and arriving a week or so before the start date to get settled, and some training. You will usually get a week orientation before teaching. If the school hire you ASAP, you will have one or two training days.
Some teachers don't get any training in how to conduct classes, discipline children etc. The teachers are just given a book and told to "go teach". No class objectives, no time plan, nothing. If you are not experienced in teaching or Korean culture, you will might have some problems. The schools know more training and information is definitely required, but sometimes there is no preparation time.
