Seoul area is the most favorite city for native speakers.

It's full of exciting, attractive, and dynamic culture. It is also the capital of administration and politics.

This area is very diverse and highly developed- a blend of the ancient and the modern.

In addition to the world's fifth-largest 123-story building, there are also five palaces with a 500-year history.

There are various life and people. If you like busy city life, Seoul is the best choice.

There are many satellite cities of Seoul in Gyeonggi-Do. Most cities are well planned. Gyeonggi province is located in the center of the Korean Peninsula. Getting to Seoul is easy using the subway, train or bus. It only takes about 30 minutes or so. A lot of teachers like to live and work in Gyeonggi-do.

Busan is the second favorite area because of the sea.

It is located on the east coast. There are some beautiful beaches and scenery to check out. There is also a ferry port with daily trips to Japan.

Daejeon, Daegu, Gwangju, Ulsan

As a medium sized city, it is much more spacious than a big city, and it is one or two hours away from mountains and nature. Surrounded by  farmland , the air quality is much better than other places. If you do not like the big city or the countryside,

Daejon is a great city to live in as it is very safe and modern.

It has a Walmart, Costco, and many Western fast food restaurants.

Gwangju is a city of about 1.5 million people in the southern tip of South Korea, the fifth largest city in Korea. It has a reputation for the best Korean food and has an interesting historical background.

I recommend a small and medium sized city if you want to stay away from the popular Seoul location.

Anywhere

It doesn't really matter where you are in Korea, the night life is always alive and buzzing.

There are a couple of frequented bars in the city where most of the foreigners hang out.

There are an endless supply of tourist attractions around. One has to be willing to take the plunge and be adventurous.

The more you get out and about in the country and learn how to become independent without speaking the language fluently,

the more you will enjoy your stay. Temples, beaches, mountains are only a few of the many areas that attract new comers.

Many cities also have an International Center that offers many services to the foreign community including day trips and language classes.
